Job Description:
• Act as the company’s digital sales expert in the complete suite of digital products including display, streaming, local listings, local offers, and social media.
• Assist other sales reps in creating comprehensive marketing programs for clients.
• Attend client meetings and assist with presentations.  This will require a majority of time spent out in the field.
• Identify and generate new digital sales opportunities. This will require a majority of time spent out in the field.
• Minimum of 2 years digital sales experience (automotive experience a plus)
• Proven track record of knowledge of online sales offerings
• Technically savvy and proficient with sophisticated digital advertising programs delivery methodologies
• The ability to sell a comprehensive marketing solution including multiple products
• A hunter mentality to generate new business
• Exceptional communication skills
• Solid telephone prospecting and closing skills
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment


Malkan Interactive Communication (Hot Z95/92.7 Kbay/ESPN 1440) is hiring a Marketing/Promotions Intern.


Marketing/Promotions Intern: This position will support the Marketing Department in all aspects of marketing and promotions for three radio stations (Hot Z95, 92.7 KBAY and ESPN 1440AM). Position will be exposed to and assist in event planning and execution of promotions and station events. Day-to-day activities include: marketing material/prize preparation and management, social media updates, website updates, press release creation, trade/client management, and promotion creation/event planning. This role will also have the opportunity to be exposed to day-to-day programming/DJ duties and sales. Applicant must be registered for the upcoming Spring 2013 semester in the marketing/ promotions field and needing intern hours.

Ideal candidate has strong technical skills and an interpersonal style that works well in a team. Need Photoshop, web graphic art skills, Dream Weaver, Wordpress, etc. and be HTML savvy, if not fluent. Webmaster and Social Media duties will include daily maintenance of all digital products and verticals as well as building and revising all aspects of the .com and mobile platforms. This position will report directly to the General Manager and coordinate daily with GSM and Program Directors. We are looking for an energetic professional to work in a highly challenging and fast paced multimedia entertainment environment. Video editing skills are a plus!

The AE develops and manages new business from local clients, focusing on new clients and selling standard packages across all local platforms including all radio stations and local internet sites. The AE understands the importance of successful cold calling, goal-setting, and time management, and is well versed on different buyer types and their concerns.

  • Pursue and qualify leads, either self generated or provided by support team/ other centralized resource coordinator
  • Identify prospective businesses that need help marketing within Corpus Christi area
  • Makes presentations, negotiates and closes sales with clients
  • Works in partnership with support staff in the preparation of standard client presentations, order entry, post-sale reconciliations, collections, etc.
  • Prepares for and attends internal meetings
